To qualify for free home repairs through SHARP, you must own and occupy your home in Newport Beach, and have an annual income that falls below the current HUD guidelines. The Orange County Transportation Authority, better known as the OCTA, is the regional public transit provider that serves Newport Beach. Residents aged 60 and older are eligible for the OCTA’s Senior Program, a reduced fare program that gives seniors access to discounts on cash fares, day passes and 30-day passes.

All OCTA buses are wheelchair accessible, but if you can’t use the regular bus service due to a physical or cognitive limitation, you can apply to use OC ACCESS, the regional paratransit service. This on-demand, curb-to-curb service can be used to travel to and from locations within 3/4 mile of any OCTA bus route.
